How to Pay HMRC


Self Assessment

Your tax is normally due to be paid by 31 January following the end of the tax year. If you tax liability in any one year is over £1,000 you may also be making payments on account which are due 31 January and 31 July. You should receive a payslip nearer the due date which gives you details of ways to pay. If you don't receive a payslip then please refer to www.hmrc.gov.uk/payinghmrc for further details.

Corporation Tax

Your corporation tax is due to be paid nine months after the end of your accounting period.

You should receive a HMRC payslip near the due date giving the details of the ways to pay. If you do not receive a payslip please refer to https://www.gov.uk/pay-corporation-tax.

VAT

Your VAT is due to be paid by one month and 7 days after the end of your VAT quarter. If you have registered for VAT to be taken by direct debit this will be taken from your bank account one month and 10 days after the end of the VAT quarter.

If you wish to pay using internet banking the HMRC bank account number is 11963155 and sort code is 08 32 00. You will need to use your VAT number as the reference.

PAYE

Payment must be received by HMRC by the 19th of the month following the month of pay if you are paying by cheque or by 22nd if you are paying by internet banking or direct debit or debit/credit card.
