Rise in minimum wage for April 2024

As you are no doubt aware the National Minimum Wage will increase from 1 April 2024.

By law, you will need to ensure that the correct wages are being paid by you to your staff, complying with the new minimum amount.

If you are already paying above the new minimum amount, you do not need to take any action.

See below details of the updated Minimum Wages to take effect from 1 April 2024.

Rise in national minimum wage

From 1 April 2024, workers aged 21 and over will be entitled to the National Living Wage.

*Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either:

  • Aged under 19.

  • Aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.

Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage for their age if they both:

  • Are aged 19 or over.

  • Have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.

We would advise you to inform your staff of the increases to their wages if applicable, and for any of our clients, please email us any revised rates of pay for your staff before 12th April 2024 to enable us to update the payroll software.
